I just saw someone say the words “jokingly gaslight” this might be a good time to reintroduce the internet to the terms “lying” or perhaps “pranking” or even just “joking” on it’s own
Okay, say it with me guys…
If you are giving someone wrong information in the hopes that they’ll believe that it’s true, then that’s lying.
If you are giving someone wrong information under the assumption that they’ll ultimately realise that it’s false, and that they will find this funny, then that’s joking.
If you are giving someone wrong information in the hopes that they’ll believe that it’s true and that their response will be funny, then that’s a prank.
If you are giving someone wrong information in the hopes that they will notice the differences between your presentation of reality and their perception of it, and come to doubt their ability to judge what is and is not real, then that’s gaslighting.
now dont leave this in the tags
If you are giving someone wrong information and you assume they will know it is wrong, in hopes that they will play along, then that’s a bit.
Learn to Crochet! Crochet Gif Tutorial: The Single Crochet (sc) Stitch
As you get into it, try doing steps 4-6 all in one motion!
NB: This tutorial is using US English crochet terminology. This is the UK English ‘double crochet’ stitch. Check which language the pattern you’re following is using! (9 times out of 10 it will be US)
Learn to Crochet! Crochet Gif Tutorials: Invisible Decrease
The invisible decrease is slightly more difficult than the standard decrease, but it can look great in amigurumi projects - because you can’t see it’s there!
This stitch works in the front loops of the stitches only, which you should be able to see clearly in the first gif.
Good luck! CG XX
(P.S. You might notice that the stitch I end up with in this tutorial is very loose. This was so that I could clearly illustrate the technique. Try to crochet a lot tighter than this if you can, especially if you’re using this stitch for amigurumi.)
This tutorial shows my technique for making the crocodile stitch. I’ve looked at various other tutorials in the past and they all seem to have slightly different methods, but this is what I came up with as the way that works for me. I hope that it will help you too - but as always, play around and see what you like best!
So far, this tutorial only covers making the crocodile stitch in rows - so for things like scarves or anything rectangular. At some point in the future I hope to cover the adaptions you need to make to work this in the round.
thinking about how peeta mellark grew up in twelve with an abusive mother, went in the hunger games, lost a leg, went in the games again, was captured and emotionally and physically tortured, found out his home had been destroyed and his entire family were dead, was brainwashed into being terrified of the one person left he loved and fought in a war all by the age of 18 but his defining characteristic remained his undeniable goodness and ability to represent hope
one time a guy i know whose girlfriend was heavily pregnant didn’t tweet anything for a whole day so i texted him ‘congrats on your baby’ and made him think i had some kind of baby precognition
like six months after that just after halloween i asked to see his son dressed as a ‘fat baby pumpkin’ and he was like ‘who told you’ and i said ‘no one. it’s halloween. you have a fat baby. he’s going to be a pumpkin’
the kicker is he was being asked if his work was coming from the approach of man vs. nature aka “THE ENVIRONMENT STRIKES BACK” but no. his literal words were along the lines of “sharks are not very scary if you are never in the water so i had to make them scarier, and now they have legs.”
Junji Ito has the best fucking take on horror, which is ‘wouldn’t that be weird’ and then he draws it into the most terrifying thing possible.
One of his strangest stories is about a cursed type of honey that, when ingested, is guaranteed to be the best thing you’ve ever tasted. But, if you consume it, you have a 25% of being flattened like a pancake by a giant tree demon. Characters eat it, get addicted, and that addiction forces them to risk it over and over again until they eventually get turned into a gory puddle by this ghost tree thing.
It’s a weird story, but the funny part is that Ito wrote it because he thought it would suck to be a mosquito.
I really can’t believe I’ve been on this hell site for 8 years
Impart me in your wisdom of ancient times
one time there was a tumblr user with the url “pizza” and she would just comment on any text post about pizza saying “omg that’s me” and then we found out she had an entire tag dedicated to saying the n word
One time somebody paid $750 for the url ‘hi’ and got deleted in less than a year for promoting weight loss scams
There’s always been something deeply wrong with this place.
ok hold up reblog and put in the tags what you call (regardless of platform) the little user image thing on your account ↖ and what year (approx) you started using any sort of online social media.
(this brought on because i finally googled what “pfp” means.”
“why would we make plans in front of you if you weren’t invited?” babe i was left out of everything growing up, i need 100% confirmation you want me there or i simply will not go
The us tour 2 boot is literally so silly. Like is that production not the best from a technical standpoint? Yeah absolutely. But it’s okay it’s camp to me like. Electra has a surfer dude voice for some reason. The races are 3D videos but since a camera can’t wear 3D glasses they all look like a blurry mess. One of the nationals (turnov??) loses an arm during one of the races and we just never acknowledge it. Hashimoto falls off a cliff to his death. During pumping iron greaseball THROWS buffy across the stage. Jeremy Kocal is there. Every time purse goes on stage he does like. A crab walk???? Girl what is going awn I love all of it
